Outstanding Company: COPEL achieved nationwide recognition with the award of Outstanding Company in the category of Data Communication Services granted by Anuário Telecom Magazine.
Special Achievement in Geographic Information System: this award was granted to COPEL at the United States' 2003 User Conference of the Environmental Systems Research Institute, on account of its GIS management of areas socially affected by the construction of hydroelectric facilities.
Global Finance Award - Chosen by the U.S.'s Global Finance Magazine, for the third time in six years of existence of the awards, as the "Best Latin-American Electric Utility".
The Abradee Award, in the category of best quality in management, sponsored by the Brazilian Association of Power Distribution Utilities.
2 nd place at the FINEP Awards - COPEL won 2 nd place at the 2003 awards sponsored by FINEP (the Studies and Projects Financing Institution of the Science and Technology Ministry) in the category of "Procedure", with a project by its União da Vitória maintenance team titled "Set of Voltage Regulators with Reversible Section", which enables power fluctuations to be corrected without the shutdown of the faulty line.
COGE Foundation Awards, COPEL was finalist in the category of "environmental actions", with the project titled "Reclycling of Fuller Soil Employed in the Regeneration of Insulating Mineral Oil", developed by members of the Company's Electromechanical Maintenance Team of the Western Regional Administration in Cascavel.
